The challenge
For over 10 years, BBVA relied on a document generation software that presented significant limitations in keeping up with the evolution of its applications.
Lacking control over access and template modifications, developers faced communication issues, leading to recurring errors during the document generation process. Additionally, template sharing between teams was done via email, further complicating workflow efficiency.
The bank needed a robust solution to support all its branches and handle high volumes of document generation without requiring changes to its existing infrastructure.
The Solution
DocPath replaced BBVA’s previous software, automatically converting existing forms without the need to modify applications.
The new solution centralized the entire system in an internal cloud, accessible by employees at both branch offices and remote banking locations.
This enabled templates to be shared and retrieved quickly and securely.
The system introduced new features such as graphics, barcodes, and support for output formats like AFP. Additionally, DocPath implemented the XF Repository, a resource repository that allows BBVA developers to access templates, track version histories, and revert to previous versions when necessary.

The container-based technology enabled greater efficiency, particularly during peak periods of document generation requests.
Now, BBVA has complete control over template development with a common repository accessible to all developers.
