DocPath technology has been able to adapt to the document generation needs of a health care group whose hospitals are located in different Spanish provinces.
General Healthcare
Of all the services offered by hospitals and clinical centers, one of the most important is patient care. This includes making it easier for patients to make appointments, meeting their demands as quickly as possible and guaranteeing confidentiality of patient information. These elements are crucial to the corporate image of any healthcare organization.
Since 2005, a private health care group has stood out among other Spanish organizations. The group is a leader in its sector and one of the main Spanish private healthcare providers with seven hospitals and one Brain Trauma Center scattered throughout Spain. As its management is fully aware that a comprehensive, efficient and personal level of attention is one of the keys to achieving excellence, the group provides an extensive list of medical specialities, which are administered by freelance professionals that operate and/or attend patients in hospitals. The company´s primary objectives include promoting and fostering good practice, supporting scientific research and training, and educating the medical and health sector. For this reason, the group created a foundation with the same name as the company.
The technology of choice
One of the distinguishing features of this business group is that it stands out in terms of technological innovation, as it consistently acquires the best technology tools. As such, the group’s need to generate and distribute documents in PDF and PCL format between different hospitals of their network, located in different geographical areas, encouraged the company to search the technology market for the best option. The group found that DocPath held the answers to their needs and demands. Specifically, the Remote Office Printing solution, a real-time printing system for environments with distributed printers.
The solution: DocPath Remote Office Printing
Remote Office Printing is a solution that enables authorized employees from different hospitals to remotely request the generation of a document or form, which they can then print and/or view on their local computer.
Remote Office Printing solves the group’s need to unify its business documents and the difficulties of their System i operating system by forwarding the data to DocPath in the System i environment. DocPath then sends the data to the Windows system for processing, after which it redeposits the data in a queue on the System i platform. From there, the documents are generated either via printing, in PCL or in PDF format. By using this “outsourcing” strategy, the medical group is able to remove the document generation processes from their servers, so that they may be used for other computing tasks.
Total Connectivity
With DocPath´s technology, which has been customized to the needs of this specific medical group, the company has succeeded in generating high-quality documents that are vital to the document generation processes in their health centers. As such, the corporate resources are optimized and, above all, the service offered to its patients is greatly improved.
