With DocPath Designer, it is possible to create AFP (Advanced Function Presentation) Overlays
In the 1970s, IBM launched the IBM 3800 printing subsystem and created AFP (Advanced Function Presentation) to take advantage of its new high-speed laser printing technology. AFP provided several new functionalities such as the ability to solve paper and hardware problems, as well as the ability to print more accurately.
With DocPath® DesignerTM, you can create AFP overlays, limiting the functionality to that accepted by the AFP architecture. In addition, thanks to the Document Generation Engine (DGE), you can create documents in many output formats, including AFP, from the same electronic template, then send them to different output destinations such as printer, email, or SMS.
