BBVA Success Story

A centralized document software and repository in the internal cloud

infoBBVA’s Problem

For over 10 years, BBVA used a document generation software that presented important limitations for the evolution of the bank’s applications. There were many developers working on the same templates and there was no control over access and modification of the templates. There was miscommunication between the different developers’ machines giving place to errors which were carried over throughout the document generation process when the templates were sent by mail among the development staff.

BBVA needed to implement a solution that service all its offices, with a high generation volume. Looking for a company that did not require changes to their existing structure and that included interesting features, they found DocPath.

DocPath automatically converted the existing forms and replaced the software without the need to modify the applications in the conversion of the documents, covering both offices and remote banking in different departments. The new software provided is centralized in an internal cloud that can be accessed by remote banking employees as well as staff located in offices. Therefore, the same templates can be worked on and, thanks to the document generation engine included in the solution, these templates can be retrieved once they are generated.

The solution allows bank employees to connect to mainframe machines and have new features such as graphics, barcodes, or new output formats such as AFP for template creation and document generation. In addition, DocPath provided a resource repository, XF Repository, so that anyone at BBVA can access the templates, view the change history, and revert to a previous version of the template.

celebrationBenefits

The implementation of DocPath’s solution has eliminated the need to have the document software installed in all offices as it is centralized, resulting in savings in software maintenance costs.

With container-based technology, BBVA has achieved greater effectiveness since they can provide service dynamically and have high availability in terms of document generation requests during work peaks.

BBVA can now control the development of templates by having a common repository that all developers can access and work with. In addition, with XF Repository and the design tool, dynamic documents such as contracts or invoices can be defined in an attractive format for the end user.
